Shipping Policy

Shipped Frozen

Our meat is packed in vacuum-sealed bags. It is shipped straight from our freezers, packaged in a thermal-lined cardboard box, and packed with dry ice. Meat should arrive to you frozen. If it does not, kindly contact us and we will be happy to ship you a replacement box.

Shipping rates

To ensure delivery within a 48-hour timeframe, shipping charged at check-out is estimated at a flat rate of $55 per box. After your order is received, if additional shipping charges above the flat rate are needed to cover the actual shipping charges to your chosen address, it will be added at that time. Shipping rates include the cost of the insulated liner, box, dry ice, and 2-day shipping.

We are committed to passing along any savings we can to you. If our flat rate charge exceeds the actual shipping price of your package, we will refund your card accordingly.

We are a small operation and appreciate your understanding on this.

Monthly shipping

Due to the distance of our ranch from a source for dry ice and a delivery hub, we currently offer shipping once per month. You will be notified of nearest upcoming ship dates via email after your order has been received. If we are able to offer additional shipping days during the month, we will be in contact with you via email. 

You will receive an email with tracking once your order is enroute.

48-hour delivery

All meat orders are delivered within approximately 48-hours to maintain freshness. Through the technology of our box liners, each package should accommodate up to 72 hours transit time to allow for shipping delays. 

Pick-up

Local pickup in Rapid City and Sturgis, SD is available on a monthly basis. If you select the Pick-Up option, we will be in contact with you to organize a pickup date and time. Pick-Up is also available at the ranch on a daily basis. Please indicate in the order notes if you would prefer to pick-up at the ranch, Rapid City or Sturgis. Other locations may be available as well, indicate your preference and we will do our best to accommodate. We will be in contact with you via email to organize pick-up and delivery!

Box Return

We plan to eventually offer a service where you can return your cardboard box and liners via the US Postal Service, and after a certain amount of returned boxes, we will grant you a Cowboy Prime Meat Co credit. Look for this in the future!
